    Own your own piece of contemporary African art. This stunning, vibrantly-coloured lino cut is by San artist Andry Kashivi. She is one of the key artists who participated in the !Xun and Khwe San Art and Culture Project, based at Platfontein, near Kimberley, South Africa. We’re proud to be able to offer a range of art for sale from this project. These beautiful pieces are not only fantastic images, but record the folklore, traditions and emotions of the !Xun and Khwe communities; one of the oldest peoples of southern Africa, who have often been disenfranchised in their own land.

    Through art the !Xun and Khwe communities tell their stories, connecting the past and the present in wonderfully vibrant pieces that speak to us all.


    This is a limited edition linocut, signed by the artist and comes mounted in a silver wooden frame. This piece is edition 27/30.

    The Artist

    Andry Kashivi

    Born in Cunjamba, Angola in 1950s her family were subsistence farmers. As an adult Andry settled in Omega, Namibia with her husband who was employed as a tracker in the South African Defence Force. Relocated to South Africa in 1990 Andry joined the Adult Education Programme at Schmidtsdrift, South Africa where her art career began.
